He joined GAM following its acquisition of the equity hedge specialist, GAM Investment Management Lugano SA (formerly Arkos Capital SA), in July 2012. Prior to joining Arkos in September 2007, Mr Stanford was an executive director at the investment banking division of UBS, responsible for convertible bond sales for institutional clients in Switzerland, Italy and southern Europe. Before that, he was a portfolio manager at Banca Commerciale Italiana (Suisse) in Lugano and Zurich, Switzerland. Mr Stanford holds a BA in International Management from Franklin College, Switzerland, and an MBA in International Management from Long Island University, New York. He is based in Lugano, Switzerland.
