Prior to joining GAM in November 2014, William Mejia was a Director in equity research at Credit Suisse in Dubai, covering MENA financials. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in equity research at Goldman Sachs in London, where he was responsible for the coverage of banks in Turkey, Russia, South Africa and the Middle East. William Mejia’s last assignment at Goldman Sachs was to head the Global Investment Research teams covering several sectors including construction, real estate and transport in the MENA region. He began his career as a credit analyst covering financial institutions at Bancolombia. William Mejia holds a MS in Finance and International Economics from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and a BA in Industrial Engineering from La Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. He is based in Lugano, Switzerland.
