Gerhard Lohmann

Gerhard Lohmann - Group Chief Financial Officer


Gerhard was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer of GAM Holding AG on 26 March 2026 and is a member of the Group Management Board.

Gerhard is an experienced financial executive with a distinguished career spanning asset management, banking, and reinsurance, with deep expertise in financial strategy, capital and liquidity management, risk oversight, and M&A. He holds a PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and an Executive MBA in Finance and Business Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Most recently, Gerhard served as Chief Operating Officer for EMEA at Credit Suisse AG, overseeing wealth management, asset management, and investment banking operations across the region. Prior to that he was Chief Financial Officer of the International Wealth Management division at Credit Suisse, leading a global team of 150 finance professionals.

Before rejoining Credit Suisse, Gerhard spent eight years at Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd. as Chief Financial Officer of the Reinsurance business unit and a member of its Executive Committee, leading a global finance team of 650 professionals. Before that Gerhard was CFO of the Asset Management division of Credit Suisse and earlier in his career he held a number of senior positions at Credit Suisse across Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Corporate & Retail Banking. Gerhard began his professional career as a Senior Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG in Zurich.

Gerhard serves on the board of the Pestalozzi Foundation in Zurich where he is responsible for managing the funds of the foundation and he has founded entrepreneurship programmes in East Africa together with a Zurich based charitable foundation. He is a Swiss and German citizen, based in Zurich.
