GAM Investment Director Jian Shi Cortesi to add further investment strategies to her existing responsibilities

GAM announces that Investment Director, Jian Shi Cortesi will add the GAM China and GAM Asian equity strategies to her existing responsibilities.

Jian Shi Cortesi has recently been selected for the fifth year running for Citywire’s top 30 female managers. She currently manages the GAM Asia Focus and the GAM China Evolution equity strategies. The transfer of the GAM China and GAM Asian strategies to Jian will be subject to regulatory approval and in the interim the direct responsibility for managing these strategies will continue to be carried out by the current manager, Rob Mumford. 

Jian will lead a team focused on Asian and China equity strategies, supported by a new analyst role. Jian will be working in close collaboration with Swetha Ramachandran, Investment Director for our Luxury Brands strategy. Jian will also be supported by Wendy Chen, Senior Analyst as part of the wider collaboration within the Global Equities team led by Mark Hawtin. 

Rob Mumford will remain a member of the Emerging Markets equities team with a particular focus on our Sustainable EM (Emerging Market) Equity strategy. 

Jian will report to David Dowsett, Global Head of Investments and will remain based in Switzerland.
