John Niel - Member of the Board of Directors
John Niel was appointed to the GAM Holding AG Board of Directors on 12 May 2026.
He is currently an employee of NJJ Telecom Europe, where he oversees operational performance and cost control across 5 telecom subsidiaries in approximately 20 countries spanning two continents. In this role, he evaluates strategic and financial plans at subsidiary level and works closely with local management teams through extensive on-the-ground engagement.
Previously, John Niel founded and served as CEO of Jasp, a fintech venture created for the Iliad Group. He led the company from inception, successfully obtaining a French Payment Service Provider (PSP) license, building a scalable lending product, and managing a multidisciplinary team of 12 employees. Earlier in his career, he was Head of US Launch at BeReal, where he played a key role in expanding the application from launch to approximately five million users in the United States and building a nationwide student ambassador network. John Niel began his professional career in venture capital at New Wave and Kima Ventures, where he analysed investment opportunities and worked closely with founders across Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Computer Science and Marketing from University College London and is fluent in French and English.
