GAM announced today that Perhad Merwanji has joined the private clients and charities business as portfolio director, effective 31 July. He is based in London.
Merwanji will report to Kier Boley and Andrew Jenkins, who co-head GAM’s managed portfolio solutions team, and he will be responsible for managing and growing multi-jurisdictional assets for high net worth individuals, family offices and charities through bespoke asset management services.
The appointment follows the integration of the private clients and charities team, the alternative investment solutions and multi asset class solutions business into GAM Investment Solutions in September 2016. GIS team members work flexibly across organisational units and geographies to deliver solutions consistent with client needs, spanning the range from unitised funds to bespoke portfolio offerings.
Larry Hatheway, head of GAM Investment Solutions, said: “We are delighted to welcome Perhad to the team. He brings 23 years of experience of fund management and client servicing and he will add to our considerable expertise across investment strategies, asset classes and portfolio construction. His appointment reinforces our commitment to the private client and charities business and will help fulfil our core strategy in GIS of delivering bespoke multi asset investment solutions for our clients.”
