Sven Weber - Managing Director, Liberty Street Advisors, Inc.
Sven has over 30 years of experience across venture capital, private growth companies, and secondary markets.
Prior to Liberty Street, Sven joined Knightsbridge Advisers LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser that manages private funds-of-funds, secondary funds, and separate managed accounts. He currently continues to serve as Managing Principal at Knightsbridge, actively involved in all aspects of portfolio management.Prior to Knightsbridge Sven served as Managing Director of SharesPost’s Investment Advisor and President of the SharesPost 100 Fund, the predecessor to today’s Private Shares Fund. Sven also served as a senior portfolio manager and member of the Fund’s Board of Trustees. In his tenure, he invested in over 60 of some of the most prominent venture capital-backed companies.
Previously, Sven was President of SVB Capital at Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB) managing $1.5 billion in venture capital fund of fund and direct investment assets, which included commitments to key venture capital funds and its leading portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, he worked for the secondary firm Cipio Partners and the early-stage investment arm of Siemens. Sven started his career in the 1990s launching an Internet Service Provider for O2 Germany.
Sven holds a Masters in Physics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to the United States in 2002 and is a dual U.S. and German citizen.
